Today marks the first day of my fellowship at Harvard University! I am excited to be here working on an online learning platform for mobile journalists. I am like a kid in a candy store. As a fellow, I get to attend any course I want, visit any guest lecture on campus, and interview any rock star professor I meet!
Bryant, Brynn and I drove up from Maryland yesterday. I spent the ride just like any professor-mommy does: feeding Goldfish crackers to my 23-month-old daughter and grading midterm papers online, in Blackboard. Six hours later, we were driving through Harvard Square, taking in the handsome brick buildings and bustling students. I stopped by Lippman House, where the Nieman Foundation is headquartered, to pick up the keys to the apartment they rented for my family and me.
Today, we all took time to get the lay of the land. We found an IHOP (absolutely mandatory for breakfast!), a parking garage and lots of cool activities for Brynn. I’ll be blogging everyday to share what I learn. Stay tuned!
